I had a thought while saying my prayers tonight. I wanted to record it somewhere, but I don't have a official journal and Facebook was too impersonal, so that left my lonely blog. Sorry blog, I've missed you too.
My thought came while counting my blessings. I have heard the words "I hate you!" come out of the mouths of the children in my neighborhood. Mostly it's between the other siblings that my children play with. Recently it's been a lot.
I recall screaming those words to my family when I was little. Sorry guys.
The blessing that came to my mind was that I have never heard those words come out of the mouths of my children. Even when we are all mad at each other. I don't attribute that to any of my mothering skills- although I don't go around talking about all the things I hate. I thank my Heavenly Father for sending me such super sweet and caring spirits. Spirits that have an inherent sense of right and wrong, good and bad, love and hurt. Tonight I'm thankful for that.
Oh, and after months of having Miles "say" prayers, which consisted of us slowly saying a simple prayer with him in our laps, he finally repeated every word that I said. It won't be long until those words come straight from his heart. Hailey and I were so proud! Sorry boys, but you missed it.
