Well, it happened again, another one of my sweet babies turned one. Where does the time go? From what I've gathered as I've talked with others who are older and wiser, I will never get use to my babies turning a year older. All I have to do is absorbed as much as I can now.
This is Miles when he first woke up. He likes to start his day with a nice colorful fruit loop breakfast. In fact, as I write this, he's busy eating another one of his yummy breakfasts. I love that guy.
We had James' cousin Lora and her family over for dinner. We had such a good time visiting with Lora and Spencer I think we should do it again soon.
For his birthday Miles got a new pair of shoes, crackers, bath toys, cars, a book, and lots of cards.
I love first birthdays because the birthday baby doesn't really care about what the cake looks like, so I use that time to let my creative juices flow. I made an ice cream cake mocking the Diary Queen cakes. It was good. There are a few changes I would make, but that's for another post.
For now we'll watch the cake get devoured...going....
...going....
...going...
...gone. Well, sort of, he left a good portion of it on his face, hands, bib and tray.
He loved it, but at 10:00 that night he woke up bright eyed and ready to play again. Miles never does that. I blame it on the sugar from the cake. Thankfully James was willing to stay up with him.
And finally, here is his birthday song video. I love his faces he makes at the candle.
Miles' Milestones:
Fast Crawler
Cruising
Says "Uh Oh", "dad" (which he uses in reference for his actual dad and also dogs), "vroom"
