My baby girl has made it to the terrific threes (double cross my fingers and toes)! I can't believe she's so old, it's a good thing we have another one on the way to remind us how little they are when they start out.
She started out a tiny 6lbs 2oz...and has stayed my little pixie girl.
Born a week before Valentine's Day, I've always thought she was the perfect little Valentine.

Everyday she's become a little more girl. I'm always amazed at how those girly/mothering instincts seem to come with the package.

For her birthday this year, we celebrated with her cousin, Zack who is one year older than Hailey. I had so much fun creating a personalized cake for the both of them. Hailey ordered an all pink cake with pink ice cream, what more could a girl want?

This is on our way to Grandma's for the party. Hailey got a new spring outfit for her birthday, and even though it's still winter outside, she had to wear it, complete with her pink sparkle shoes that are too big for her. Like I said, what more could a girl want than pink sparkle shoes to go with her pink cake and pink ice cream?

I love Zack's expression in this picture. He looks so sweet patiently waiting for Hailey to blow out her candles...really the story goes that he couldn't wait to blow out his candles. Go get those wishes Zack!!

So, what could a girl want more than pink cake and pink ice cream and pink sparkle shoes...how about a new pink quilt to go with her new pink sheets to go on her new big girl bed! Hailey has been telling me for a while that she does not like her bed (the old toddler one), so for her birthday we finally set up the bunk beds. She's actually slept two whole nights in her bed without coming to get in our bed! Amazing! Maybe she really didn't like her little bed anymore.
I got a new sewing machine for my birthday a couple of weeks ago and so I set out to make her a new quilt for my first project. I made Thomas a similar quilt last year and liked it so much I followed the same pattern with girly material of course and equally like this one too.

I would say that Hailey had a happy birthday and is finally correct when she tells people that she's three (she skipped two and has been telling everyone that she's three for the past 6 months or so). I love to listen to her stories and songs. I love having a daughter around to be my buddy. I love her hugs and smiles. I love watching her mother her baby, and anything else she can wrap up in a blanket. I love hearing her laugh and giggle at her funny brother and daddy. I love my Hailey! Happy Birthday Hailey!
