NC extras

I had some pictures from our NC trip that never got posted and simply for the sake of me remembering this little event in years to come, I needed to add them to my blog.

We had a tea party...here's a little background as to why. My Grandma (my Mom's Mom) was a big coffee and tea drinker and hence had several fancy tea cups, even little espresso cups that were just the right size for children. She also had lots of costume jewelry. Whenever we went to visit her house, I remember playing "jewelry store" with her jewelry. I would lay out all of her jewelry put some on and open my "store." She would visit the store and purchase the jewelry for nickles and pennies. Grandma would also let us drink out of her tea cups, not filled with tea, but Ovaltine. Yummy. My mom has since acquired my Grandma's most important possessions, her tea cups and costume jewelry. The last night we were in NC, we felt it necessary to carry on the traditions of my childhood memories.

Even Thomas wanted to dress up. We later traded the fancy shawl and necklace for a cowboy hat.

My mom was the Queen. She did a very fine job role playing. Hailey also took it upon herself to make sure no one was left with an empty cup.

This picture below was a funny story, I didn't want to loose to faded memories. We stopped to eat lunch outside the children's museum. Hailey was on the verge of being too tired to be reasonable with. She set her PB&J sandwich down and Thomas proceeded to, unknowingly, sit down right on top of it. Hailey lost it and would not touch that sandwich. Good thing Grammy packed an extra one.

Hailey the Hamster. This was at the science museum. Before I got the camera out, she was laughing up a storm. I'm pretty sure she spent 10 minutes in this and then continued to want to go back for more. I guess hamsters really do have a good time.
