Christmas week was spent doing so many fun things! It really made the time fly by and kept the spirit on the season strong.
For starters we made candy trains at Grandma's house. All the girls (except Jenny...see you next year Jenny!) Got together and brought lots of candy and frosting to create candy train masterpieces. I was so fun to see the creativity going on that morning.
Here's Becky and Kira. I like how Kira's tongue is licking her lips. You can just see the wheels turning in her little brain trying to figure out how to get all the goodness into her tummy.
Lisa and her sister-in-law, Maddie joined us as well. They were busy putting "dirt" (Oreo crumbs) and "track" (Twizlers) down on their boards.
Mom and Kelli planning which candy to put on their train.
Hailey busy testing out the decorations. She did help decorate that gram cracker on the left.
And here's the finished product:
We were especially excited for Christmas morning this year because it was the first one in our house. We were in NC for Christmas last year, so we had to wait a whole other year until we could enjoy being at home.
Here's Hailey and Mom waiting to go and see what Santa brought. And below this is the video of the kids finding their presents.

Hailey got a shopping cart with new pots and pans to go with her kitchen. Thomas got new Legos.
Thomas playing with his fire engine and helicopter Legos. I love Legos! We always had them growing up and I can still pull them out when I go home and build for hours. I love the free creativity that they create. Thomas has really enjoyed them too.
Hailey was more excited for the things in her stocking than her big Santa presents. I always enjoyed my stocking too. It's fun to get lot of little fun surprises.
When she found her new fairy tooth brush all she wanted to do was brush her teeth. Now when ever she sees it she must brush her teeth right then. Good thing because she's going to the dentist this week. This picture also shows her new nightgown from her Grandma and the matching dolly pjs that I made with the scraps. It took her a while to realize that they matched, but she thought it was pretty neat with she did realize it.
This is Thomas and Hailey opening their presents from Grammy and Grandpa Barrow. Grandpa won the prize for best present. He sent remote controlled hover craft with buttons on the side so that when those buttons are pushed the driver in the hover craft gets ejected. The kids thought that was a great idea!
The rest of the day was spent being lazy and playing with everything we got for Christmas. Hailey got Go Fish in her stocking and she LOVES to play it. For a couple of days after Christmas she would bring it to us in the morning first thing, while we were still sleeping in bed. She says, "Play my game card?" She's very good at that game too.
She's in for some serious play...
Later that week, Thomas got a package from his Aunt Jenny and Kelley. They told him while we were out there that he should ask Santa for a bucket for broccoli for Christmas. Thomas quickly dismissed that idea and even went as far as completely ignoring and changing the subject every time they suggested it to him. Eventually he decided that he could just throw the broccoli away and play with the bucket. I was very impressed with that level of reasoning. So, when he got his broccoli, he was pleasantly surprised that it was yet another lego set and not the dreaded vegetable.

For New Years Eve James made up some crab dip to take to his work party. Hailey, as always, was interested in what he was making. He gave her a taste and she could not get enough of it! We finally had to give her a bowl of her own to devourer and that she did. Notice her mouth full of crackers and dip.
This is just a cute picture of Hailey and her very loved baby. Baby had lot of stickers on her put there by Hailey.
We enjoyed our holidays so much! It's sad to move on to the humdrum of winter while we can only hope spring will come early this year. We have much to look forward to in 2010 though and are excited to see where this year takes us. 2009 was filled with many new adventures for our family and we hope 2010 can bring the same.
