Vegas Baby!!!

Hey everyone. This is James. I don't post very often but I enjoyed our trip to Vegas so much that I had to blog. Ann didn't take any pictures so she didn't want to do it herself. I just borrowed some pictures from my good friend Google.

We were technically down there for the Supply Side West Convention, and I did attend, for about an hour. The rest of time was spent relaxing and experiencing Vegas. Wednesday morning I got to attend a golf tournament in relation to the convention. It was at a beautiful course just south of Vegas. It was the nicest course I had ever played on. To add to it there was a $25,000 Hole in One contest. How is that for pressure? Ya, I shanked my shot into the bushes. I think most people did. :)

I feel bad that Ann had to just sit tight and wait for me while I was golfing but she says she stayed busy and enjoyed her quiet time.

After the tournament we headed over to Treasure Island, where we were staying. Who knew that you actually have to wait in line to check in to hotels in Vegas. I've never had to wait in line at a hotel in my life. And that's not all, you have to wait to check out too!!! Anyway, after an hour in line we finally got checked in. We took a minute to rest and then headed out to see what Vegas is all about. There was a lot of bad, no good, crazy stuff going on there but I was surprised to find a lot of really cool, interesting stuff. Unfortunately it is all paid for by gambling. It's too bad you can't find any of this stuff anywhere else and the only reason is because of the gambling.

Anyway, so our first stop was the Mirage. The volcano/fire/fountain show there is awesome. You can feel the heat from 50 yards away.

And of course we had to go to the Bellagio. Gotta love that scene in Oceans 11. We watched this one twice and I wish we would have had more time to stick around. They are amazing. The acreage that they take up and the sounds are incredible. This made the trip worth it.

After the fountains we had a dinner appointment with my goods friends at Industrial Container in Salt Lake. They sell us all our bottles and caps. They took us out to BOA Steakhouse in the Forum Shops near Caesar's Palace. The whole dinner cost over $500 for the 6 of us and it was a blast. The food was good but I could never justify spending that much for anything but a business dinner.

We took off after the convention the next day. We were anxious to get back to our kids. That's the longest we have ever left them. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Bradley for watching them. Anyway, so Vegas is a lot of fun, but it sure would be easy to get in a heap of trouble there. It was a great getaway for a couple days.

Gotta love the place- and hate it at the same time...strange how that works! I'm glad you found some good in it, we sure did.
