Happy Halloween! So, I'm a little late, but I love the old saying, better late than never. That one saves me all the time. Halloween is finally getting fun at our house now that the kids are really getting into the whole idea!
A week before Halloween we went to the Syracuse City pumpkin walk. Every year the city donates 1,000 pumpkins and then volunteers from around the city carve them. Some are simple and others are just amazing! The pumpkins are then lined up around a city park and you can go and look at all the wonderful artistic abilities.
The kids get the dress up for this occasion, and since I forgot to take a picture of them on Halloween night, this one will have to do. I think they were saying something like "Happy Halloween!":

Thomas posing at the beginning of the walk:

This is a good example of how many pumpkins there were to look at:

Thomas with Linus. Thomas really cracks up at the Peanuts characters:

Hailey and Tinkerbell. She can find that little fairy anywhere:

We were excited to see a Ragnar pumpkin! Pumpkin orange is Ragnar's trademark color:

Jawa from Star Wars:

Buzz Light Year:

Later that week we had our own pumpkin carving fun. The kids thought the insides were gross and wouldn't help pull anything out:

The finished product:

Thomas and Hailey really enjoyed going Trick or Treating on Halloween night. They were very selective about which houses they would go to. If a house had too many scary decorations, they would walk right by it. About the time we got to the end of our street they were done. We managed to get enough candy to make a countdown for Grammy's house. I saw this idea in Family Fun magazine, except they were counting down to Thanksgiving. It's a great way to evenly distribute the candy.

And I just wanted to throw this one in because James and I rarely make the blog. We're not quite as cute as the kids, but we're not far behind either. :)

I love that countdown idea to do with their candy. That is a great way to spread the candy out and make it last a while! I love that Thomas and Hailey were selective on the houses they would go to. Classic!
Love the picture of you and James, definitely cute!
