300 Miles

I've posted enough on Facebook about making my goal, but for records sake I thought I would write down some facts from my year of running to 300 miles.

I started recording my miles in 2010- I didn't keep that record :(. I know it was less than what I ran in 2011 though, significantly because, well, I had a baby in July of 2010 and that REALLY slows you down.

I ran 283.7 miles in 2011. When I saw I was that close to 300, I decided to continue my record and make it to 300 miles before 2012 was over.

These are only what I call "road miles." I did not include my treadmill running, which would probably increase my miles by 20-30. I have a love hate relationship with the treadmill- I'm sure I'm not alone.

My first run of 2012 was January 2. I ran 4.2 miles.

I averaged 27.4 miles a month (I didn't include December- I do not plan on running at all in December.)

My month with the most miles was May at 53.1- thank you Ragnar prep!

My month with the least amount of miles was August (again, not including December) at 1 mile- thank you first trimester fatigue!

My day with the most miles was June 15- I ran 14.7 miles total.

My longest single run was on June 15- I ran 8.2 miles.  That was a beautiful and tough night run up to East Canyon Reservoir.

Some runs were lousy and slow, others surprised me at how quickly I ran- I got my average pace at the height of my running down below 10 min miles- barely.  My last run I ran an 11 min pace.

The secondary goal here was to also loose weight- I got to my pre-Hailey weight the week before I found out I was expecting again.  And now, I am far beyond that weight again as I sit here 23 weeks pregnant stuffing my face with leftover cheesecake and pumpkin pie!  All is well though, this baby will come and the running will contine.

P.S. I have to give a shout out to Maria for letting me borrow her sweet "baby on board" shirt for my last two races. I felt justified while going slow and like a super girl when passing people. Thanks Maria! I'll wash it and return it quickly just in case you want to take your baby tummy out for one more jog in the next few weeks! Lol.
